This project is an interactive journal of photographs of the pink trumpet tree in bloom. Inspired by the colour and texture of these blossoms in Bangalore I photographed them over a period of 2 years. The project aims to preserve the memory of the flowers and curate a platform for everyone to experience the blossoms digitally. It presents contextual information about the species of the flowers, the location of the trees and the journey of witnessing them on routine walks.

PROCESS
The project began with curating photographs from the mentioned time period. It was decided to organise the photographs based on the tree and its location. This was followed by designing maps of the residential colony and locating the trees. Each tree was given a number to identify with.
Once the maps were designed and perfected, and copy text was written, I moved towards defining the visual aesthetic of the interactive site. Attention to detail was given to the textures in the map and tooltips. The colours are deliberately chosen as tints to match the delicate petals of the flower subject.

WIREFRAMING AND PROTOTYPING
The goal was to keep the layout simple and linear so that the viewer could focus on the photographs and flowers. With only 4 short pages to navigate between I chose to not make a menu and instead made buttons to switch between the pages. The hover and click interactions are kept practical. The interactive maps use pop-ups to show further information on each tree and photograph.
